Ada Osakwe is an award-winning food entrepreneur, investor and passionate African development advocate.

Ada founded Agrolay Ventures to invest in early-stage innovative companies in Africa and since 2015, has built a portfolio of eight high-growth investments in food innovation and technology, including Nuli, Nigeria’s fastest-growing farm-to-table beverage brand and restaurant chain, where Ada is both the Founder and Chief Executive.

Prior to her entrepreneurial life, Ada served her country in public service as a Senior Advisor on Investments to the Minister of Agriculture. She was a VP at Kuramo Capital, a New York-based private equity firm, a Senior Officer at the African Development Bank (‘AfDB’) and an Analyst at Actis, a multi-billion dollar emerging-markets Private Equity fund.

Ada is a member of the AfDB’s Presidential Youth Advisory Group, and an Advisor on Generation Africa, an agribusiness initiative co-catalysed by Econet and Yara International. She is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, an Archbishop Desmond Tutu Leadership Fellow, and serves on the Board of the One Acre Fund.

In 2014, Ada was listed in Forbes’ “20 Youngest Power Women in Africa” and, from 2016 to 2019, Forbes Afrique listed her as one of the top 100 Africans contributing to economic impact on the continent.
